Based in the South Bay of L.A., inhabit collective is a collaboration between friends, Taylor Sinnard and Jamie Kleine whose combined expertise in residential architectural design and project management form the foundation of their practice. Our objective is to create spaces that elevate quality of life and foster well-being. A home should be a sanctuary that speaks specifically to those who inhabit it, and we aim to develop that unique language through thoughtful design. Through refined details and craftsmanship we can forge meaningful connections to our environment and enrich our daily experiences.
Jamie is an architectural designer with 12 years of experience in custom residential. She received her Master of Architecture from UCLA and has continued working on ground-up custom homes with notable firms like Woods + Dangaran and Montalba Architects where she honed her design sensibility and love for seeing projects through construction. Taylor is a USC School of Architecture graduate with 16 years of experience in the field. His past roles include designer and project manager at CBRE, Wolcott and Disney, making him an expert in managing projects with an exceptional attention to detail from start to finish. Together they form a balanced team with complementary strengths, a passion for residential design and a shared vision for creating homes that are both deeply personal and enduring.TAYLOR + JAMIE
OUR PROCESS
Our approach is highly collaborative, in constant dialogue with clients, consultants, builders and tradespeople throughout the entirety of a project. We are committed to being an advocate for our clients from the initial schematic phase through construction, taking great care throughout the design process to ensure the project is feasible within budget and schedule constraints. We believe that transparency and communication are critical to delivering a superior project experience and exceptional final result. From initial discovery through construction, our phased approach ensures thoughtful decision-making while maintaining an efficient project schedule.
PHASE 1: DISCOVERY + SCHEMATIC
This phase lays the foundation for the entire project. We begin by understanding our clients goals and priorities, and conduct careful site analysis. Through schematic design we explore layout, flow, and overall vision. We also establish preliminary budgeting so expectations are aligned early on and informed decisions can be made with confidence.PHASE 2: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT + DOCUMENTATION
Once the schematic direction and budget is approved, we refine the design in detail. This phase translates the concept into fully developed plans suitable for permitting and construction. We coordinate and prepare construction documents, and create detailed specification schedules to ensure clarity for all consultants, contractors and tradespeople involved.PHASE 3: CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
In the final phase, we complete all fixtures, finishes and equipment specifications and support the project through construction. We remain involved to answer questions, review submittals, and help ensure the design intent is executed as planned, providing peace of mind through project completion.
